Satanic Mills was built for a client resident in Dubai. He had spent his childhood in Oldham and while not wishing an exact scale model of the town, he wished to capture certain features which were important to his memories. He also wished to have a trackplan which gave him operational interest. The result was Satanic Mills which he later renamed Owdham Central. It was built on a 10ft X 4ft baseboard. This included a fiddle yard behind the scenic backdrop. An additional folding baseboard was required to allow the track to loop around to the rear at the right hand side of the model.

Once complete, the entire affair was shipped to Dubai. Rolling stock shown was purchased by the client during his visit to see the model and was not weathered at the time. The layout was operated by DCC using an NCE controller.
