- Spring Squill (Scilla verna)

- Compact loe short hairless perennial of dry grassland near the sea. Locally common on coasts of W Britain and E Ireland. Produces 4 to 6 wiry, curly leaves in spring. Starlike Flowers with 6 petals appear subsequently on short stalk, April to June. They are lilac-blue and 10 to 15mm across.Height up to 5cm
